I have had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year. Taking on extra hours at the salon to make a little bit more for the holidays; time flying by way to fast; fighting kids; more laundry than usual cause the boys think they need to where 2-3 shirts and a jacket; not having Jeff around everyday; etc. I was also noticing that the boys were also not in a good Christmas giving mood....
Which I take full responsibility for!
I had, had it with Santa Clause, spending money, being in Walmart lines - the winners of THE slowest checkerouters in the world. (yes it is a real award, in my world anywho.)
I decided that for Family Home Evening I was going to teach the boys the True Meaning Of CHRISTmas.
So thanks to scriptures, primary Christmas songs and YouTube (yup) we had a fantastic night!
It changed my heart!!
After learning about Christ's birth and why we give gifts- we made 2 lovely gifts for 2 of our favorite Families - who the boys helped choose; and went caroling and giving them their gift. It was an awesome night!
I am so grateful for the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Because of Him I can return to my beloved Heavenly Father. The feeling I got when I got to see my kids serve and give to others means more to me than a purse, iPad, or fancy phone.
My heart is so full of joy, hope and peace!
So as u go through out the rest of your Holiday I hope you get the chance to help someone, be someones miracle, experience a miracle, or just take a moment to remember
and feel Christ love for you and know that
HE IS THE REASON FOR THIS SEASON.
